Dear Beautiful Sangha:
We will meet for meditation on Sunday. The group will decide where to meditate, either in the MemorialGarden in the back behind the church or in the Walker Room of theUnitarian Universalist Church of Bloomington Normal. Arrive early to getsettled. Since the summer season is upon us, it is recommended that youbring supplies to meditate in the garden: Cushion or a folding chairespecially useful.
It should be noted that at times, we share the space atUUBN with somewhat noisy and distracting groups and we just fold thatdistraction into our practice. They will try to be respectful of ourspace as well.
Someone will choose the reading from Joseph Goldstein’sbook called, Insight Meditation. We will read a chapter a week duringour session. We also welcome other Buddhist writings or videos or dharmatalks on occasion.
All welcome, participation in the discussion optional. Wewill follow our usual meditation practice (20 minutes sitting, 20minutes optional walking, 20 minutes sitting followed by the reading anddiscussion for the last 30 minutes).
The group messages that are sent out will appear on theunder the Blog section tab, you will also find a link to the Facebookpage on the website. There are many other features and resources there, including suggested readings and websites on meditation and Buddhism aswell as our lending library. Please review the Group Agreements on thewebsite from time to time or if you are new to the group.
Questions may be answered from the website contact or from (this) email reply.
