Greetings Sangha!

Come join us tonight for our meditation gathering at 6:30 at UUBN.  We will meet in the Walker Room unless the group decides to meditate outside in the memorial garden. Bring a cushion or chair if you prefer (for outside), chairs are available for inside.

We will discuss Chapter 6 in our group read, Best Buddhist Writing of 2013.  It is titled:
If You're Lucky, Your Heart Will Break by James Ishmael Ford

We need a key holder to verify they will be there.

Exciting news below, put it on the calendars!

Tonight we will meet as usual at 6:30 at UUBN. We will discuss chapter 4 in our group read, Best Buddhist Writing 2013.  We have a key-holder. Karen

Finally, it's back!  This fall, just in time for Halloween, we'll be offering a day for meditation and reflection.  Please join us!  

Here are the details.

Day of Mindfulness – Fall 2014Date:   Saturday, October 18th 
Time: 9:00am until 4:00pmPlace: Unitarian Universalist Church

           1613 East Emerson

           Bloomington, Illinois            

We will offer alternating periods of sitting and walking/open meditation along with readings, and a recorded Dharma Talk.    

The readings will come from the book Insight Meditation by Joseph Goldstein with a talk yet to be determined.  I’ll send an update when we get closer to the date.  

 Details:

Cost: still! - $0.00 

Refreshments: We will provide tea and coffee.  If you would like to bring snacks to share please feel free to bring those. 

Lunch:  Please provide your own lunch.  There is a refrigerator and a microwave available. 

Meditation supplies: If you prefer a cushion or bench please bring whatever you normally use.  There will be chairs available.  

Silence: While there will be readings and recorded talks, participants are encouraged to maintain silence throughout all the activities of the day.

Perfumes/Colognes/Clothing:  Because of the closeness of quarters and the sensitivity that can arise in meditation please refrain from wearing perfumes or colognes or from wearing clothing that is made from noise-making, rustling fabrics such as nylon.

Kathryn B. will facilitate the discussion of chapter 3 instead of 2 of Best of Buddhist Writing 2013, key- holder needed (Carolyn and Ellen unable to do it) 

The group that met last week decided to discuss chapter 3 because of problems with chapter 2.

We are looking for a facilitator for Aug 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st, let me know if one of those will work.

Meditation Sunday July 26th

Dear Sangha,

We are meeting at UUBN at 6:30-8pm, indoor or out (the group will decide).

After meditation portion, we will Once again we will attempt to discuss the First Chapter of the Best Buddhist Writing of 2013. (Not enough people had read the first chapter yet.) Let me know if you are having trouble obtaining a copy of find it financially difficult, we perhaps can obtain a few spares if there is a desire.

Let me know if you are coming with a key and if anyone would be willing to facilitate this week on a week in August (3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st).
